My two children have been at this school for about seven years now. We moved them after my daughter started mainstream, and I realised what a poor fit that system would be for my son. We have not looked back, and both children are thriving both academically and socially in this holistic environment that is equipping them for a changing world better than any test-fest ever could. I cannot recommend this system highly enough.
Troubled school that has seen better days. The recent Belfast telegraph article only gave a small glimpse into the problems this school suffers from. Effectively having chased away much of its talent and long term staff in recent years coupled with a poorly judged and aggressively mean restructuring attempt, the school has big financial worries alongside severely bad publicity, all of this affecting its stability. A couple of teachers in primary are properly trained and ideologically committed, doing some great work, the secondary on the other hand exceptionally lacking in resources and effort. A middling inspectorate report from a few years back noted the school has prominent behaviour issues. Not a good place to send kids to learn due to mismanagement and skeleton staff though the leading responsible person for the changes moved on the rest are left holding the can, forced to follow it through. Nothing beats the Steiner education when done right, but the best staff here are held back by poor governance and no support from leadership. No resources for any additional need are provided. Make no mistake: joining for a kinder, gentler education is not what you'll be paying for. You will be getting the tail end of a school on the way out. Ads are one thing, the reality of everyone left in the chaos caused is quite another. It's a real shame considering how much goodwill it had, even from other reviews, but it made other choices.
