We took students for a day out at the museum. A Thursday morning so it was very quiet apart from a couple of school groups. As usual the exhibition were great, but our experiences with the staff in the village area were a bit hit and miss. One staff member working the loom blanked us completely, even when the students tried to talk to her. The 'Doctor' on the other hand was excellent, took his time telling the students stories and showed them a couple of experiments. We all learnt something, students and and staff alike. The museum needs less staff like the first lady, and more like the doctor.

Would have been better if more interactive. A lot of the rural part closed and only a couple of staff in the buildings. Omagh folk park better as there is a story and more staff to welcome you and explain the history.

I love the Folk Museum. Brilliant for a wee wander around, and the visitable cottages etc are very cute. The staff have always been lovely, and some great events are run. Love the Christmas one!

A great location for a family day out with an opportunity to go back in time and experience the simple but hard life of living in Northern Ireland in the last Century. Great facilities and plenty of staff on hand to interact and demonstrate bygone skills. Cafe with great food and the best sweet shop in Ireland. Entrance fees exceptionally good value.

Love this place. Everyone working here stays in character in period outfits and makes the visit feel special. It must be dull sitting waiting on quiet days for visitors to walk through the door, but you wouldn't know it from their enthusiasm and knowledge. When I bring people to Northern Ireland for their first time, I always bring them here and they always love it.
